Since our park is in the Texas hill country there are a few things we want you to be aware in addition to our park rules. If you
have not already done so check out our
park rules.

GENERAL
ATV's, UTV's, Full Size and Motorcycles all utilize ranch roads and connecting trails which are two way.  Use caution when
riding on these trails.  You will see other vehicles. Speed limit is 15 mph!

Off Roading can be dangerous. The most dangerous part of off-roading is when you to traverse inclines or descents or any
un-level surface due to the vehicle being un-level.  Use caution and know your vehicle and your experience level before you
ride. In addition speed is a major factor for accidents.

NEVER turn sideways on an include or descent. If your vehicle is sideways the risk of a roll over is very high.  Simply stop, get
off the vehicle and get help.

Heat is a factor for your body over heating.  Drink plenty of fluids (water, gatorade) and take breaks and use plenty of sun
screen.

SNAKES
Snakes are the biggest thing we want you to be aware of.  Snakes are usually active all year but snake breeding season in
spring and that is when they are most active.

With motorcycles and other motorized vehicles snakes are not likely to cross your path.  Most of the time people encounter
snakes in brush piles or walking through high grass.

There are four venomous snakes in Texas.  Diamondback Rattle snake, Copperhead, Coral snake & Cotton Mouth (water
moccasin)

If you or anyone is ever bitten by a snake the first thing you need to do is identify what type of snake bit the person, then apply
ice to the bite area and call us to dispatch emergency services asap.  You should also keep the victim calm in order to reduce
blood flow.  Do not restrict the blood flow to the bite area by using a tourniquet.

OTHER ANIMALS
As with most ranches we also have coyote, hogs, bobcat, fox, raccoons, squirrels, ring tail cats, owls, bats, turkey and deer.
These animals are naturally afraid of humans and do not pose any risk unless provoked.  Please do not attempt to pet or
capture animals.

You will rarely see these animals due to the activity in the camping areas but you may here their calls.
